Game Vision Statement
Game Vision
Introduction
For my third post about my game idea, I decided to do an app style platform/simulation game that can be played 2D from an angle shown in the pictures or 3D where the camera will follow the player. The name is "World Flight". Very similar to the classic Flappy Bird, where you have to fly through tubes without touching them and every one you pass your score counter goes up and you have to keep tapping the screen.
I will hope to do my own take on it with a whole new characters, scenery and objects within the game with levels building more difficulty as you progress and have a counter also as you pass certain points.
As you can see the Flappy Bird game has very similar scene to mario games. This is why I chose a game to create similar to this as I do love mario style and competitive games like these.
Description
In the game "World Flight" you the player, start off with a simple character who has to chase through the levels of the world while its closing up behind you! You must try to avoid the obstacles in your way and collect bonus objects to upgrade new characters after reaching checkpoints. Will there be an end to the world closing up
Key Features
- fast paced
- upgrades
- continuous play
- collectables-food/objects
- solo-player
Genre
The genre of this game would be a platform simulation game. The theme I'm going for with the game would be an apocolyptic end of the world theme, so end of the world with fire levels mudslide levels and ice levels. Each theme would have a few levels within building difficulty. This all goes alongside the story which matches the theme and will hopefully come together well at the finished product.
Platform
I hope to aim for the game to work on these forms of tech;
- pc
- IOS/Android
- console
Hi Aaron,
ReplyDeleteLoving the game idea. I remember when Flappy Bird came out and then it was banned or something and phones that still had the app on it were going for a couple thousand euro on eBay. Absolutely crazy. So you definitely have a good game idea on your hands. I love the apocalyptic theme you have for the game. Im showing my age here but it kind of reminds me of a level in the Disney Hercules game when he is riding Pegasus and is facing the four Titans. They are all throwing different objects at him to do with fire and ice etc. I dunno if that could give you a bit of inspiration when you're going further with this game. It was always such a hard level in that game.

Hey Aaron,
ReplyDeleteI really like the idea you are going for, Funny enough I also looked at flappy bird for some inspiration lol. I really like the Key features you have listed, seems like it will just add more flair to the game. Have you considered the possibility of adding a menus system into your game? This could be used for score tracking or even changeable skins.
Yoooo Aaron wow really like this game idea your focused on flappy bird is a really good inspiration for quick fun games, I wonder how you're going to make this game stand out compared to flappy bird and make it better than it? will you have different scenes, levels and obstacles? What if you added enemies in the scene too and have them shoot projectiles at the player. Looking forward to seeing how this game comes out man best of luck with it.
